Kevin Hicks, MBA, EA Business and Non-Profit Specialist
Kevin has more than 20 years’ experience with government finance and accounting, and 12 Years’ experience with business and individual tax preparation. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Utah, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Weber State University. He holds Enrolled Agent status, which is obtained by passing rigorous exams administered by the IRS. This allows him to represent taxpayers in audits (and other tax matters) before the IRS.
Kevin’s main focus is small business tax and accounting. He is well-versed in setting up and handling all accounting services for Sole Proprietors, LLC’s, S-Corporations, and Partnerships. He is also a Non-profit specialist and is proficient with many computerized bookkeeping services (including QuickBooks as a specialist). He is also an expert in payroll setup and processing, including quarterly and annual tax reports.
Kevin has been with Butler Tax and Accounting since 2010, and is available for in-office appointments as well as remote appointments. He is happy to assist you via phone or teleconference, as needed.
Personal & Family
Kevin married his better half and adventure companion, Lara, in 2001. While Kevin is busy with numbers, Lara runs the farm (literally…..raising horses, chickens, and all manners of furry and feathered creatures). Together they are raising the most challenging animals of all, three young and opinionated teenagers. When the numbers are crunched and the farm chores are done, their family loves to enjoy time together boating and travelling to new places. They have a family goal to visit all 50 states before the kids graduate and move on, and they’re already about half way there! Once the states have all been visited, their travels will expand to foreign countries, starting with road trip spanning Canada.
